We left Oxford at 3 AM and had a smooth drive to Dover. We could just make out the white cliffs of Dover in the early morning twilight. We then boarded the huge ferryboat Pride of Canterbury for the port of Calais in France.

We then drove to Konigstein. We hit heavy snow and traffic along the way and arrived in Konigstein at 7 PM. During the trip we crossed England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
